"Roots & Shoots began when parents of children I was teaching asked me to care for their kids in the afternoons. Their children were transitioning to "big school," and they knew a large, busy aftercare wouldn’t suit them. I started from my home, creating a safe and comfortable space where the kids could unwind while getting the academic support they needed for homework and building new skills.

I started from my home, creating a safe and comfortable space where the kids could unwind while getting the academic support they needed for homework and building new skills.
My focus has always been on fostering happy, comfortable children by balancing relaxation, structure, and learning. With training and experience in kids’ yoga, movement, and sensory needs, I believe every child thrives with routine and healthy boundaries in place.
A few years later, Roots & Shoots has its own premises, and I’m grateful to still care for the original group of kids alongside new, wonderful children. With Caroline as part of the team, it’s a privilege to support our aftercare families and help children grow every day."

"I am passionate about providing safe, happy, and creative spaces where children can play and learn - and just be children! I joined Tracey at Roots & Shoots with this goal in mind. Having worked with Tracey previously, I knew we had similar ideas about many things. We laugh, learn, and have fun together - building forts and Zen gardens, baking in the mud kitchen, and playing educational games. In addition, I am available with a listening ear and loving arms when required. I enjoy every moment I spend with each remarkable group of little humans who happen to cross our path every year."
